Our Story of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
Having spent years in dentistry, Chantelle established Matter of Face to address the critical link between oral health and general wellness. As a Bachelor of Oral Health graduate and AHPRA-registered clinician, she focuses on resolving underlying muscle issues for all patients. She is also a certified member of the Australian Association of Orofacial Myology Inc.
In Australia, qualified Orofacial Myologists must hold university degrees in medical, dental, or speech pathology fields. Our team consists of university-qualified Oral Health Practitioners with advanced postgraduate training. This deep expertise allows us to provide safe, professional care for children and adults navigating myofunctional disorders.
We provide non-invasive therapy to help individuals of all ages manage concerns like tongue posture, jaw tension, and thumb sucking. By optimizing muscle function, we improve your breathing and sleep quality. Our mission is to offer a supportive, expert-led experience that empowers both adults and children to achieve lasting wellness and restorative rest.
What is Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy?
Orofacial Myology involves the science of oral and facial muscles, specifically how the tongue, lips, and jaw interact. This therapy is designed for everyone—from children to adults—to restore optimal oral function through guided, tailored exercises.
Our clinical goals are to help you or your child master consistent nasal breathing, establish a healthy tongue rest position, maintain a natural lip seal, and refine the swallowing reflex.
By building these essential functional habits at any age, we help the body find its natural balance, leading to improved sleep and total wellness for your family.
